Metal roofing for barns, shops and arenas
The Fraser Valley is farm country, and nearly every barn, shop and arena from Langley to Agassiz wears a metal roof. We install and replace them: ribbed steel on purlins for most buildings, standing seam where the owner wants a roof that needs no fastener walk, translucent panels for daylight, and the venting and anti-condensation detailing that keeps a livestock building from dripping.
- Panels Classic Rib and corrugated 26 or 29 ga, standing seam 24 ga
- Daylight translucent polycarbonate or fibreglass panels
- Condensation anti-drip fleece panels or vapour barrier
- Access lift and fall protection on tall buildings
How we approach it
Built for livestock, equipment and weather
Poultry and dairy buildings are humid, and ammonia is hard on metal. We specify panels and fasteners for that environment, detail ridge and eave venting so the roof breathes, and use anti-condensation panels over areas where drips would land on animals, feed or machinery. Equipment shops need clear span and often a few translucent panels so you can work without lights. Arenas need snow load checked and a roof that does not drum in the rain if riders are under it; a solid deck or insulation makes the difference.
Re-roofing a barn is usually a panel-over-panel job on the existing purlins once we have checked them, which keeps cost down. Where purlins are rotten or spaced too wide for the new panel, we add or replace them.

Questions
Farm buildings: barns, shops and arenas questions
Can you re-roof our building while it stays open?
Usually. A standing seam retrofit over the existing metal roof keeps the building dry and open throughout, and full replacements are phased bay by bay. We plan the sequence around your hours and loading doors.
Do you provide WorkSafeBC clearance and insurance certificates?
Yes, with every commercial and strata quote: a WorkSafeBC clearance letter, certificates of liability insurance, and a fall protection plan for the site.
What warranty comes with a commercial metal roof?
A manufacturer finish warranty on the panels, our workmanship warranty in writing, and where the system and installation qualify, a manufacturer weathertightness warranty. We tell you which applies before you sign.
