Metal siding and wall cladding
We clad walls in the same metal we roof with: standing seam and flat panels for modern houses, corrugated and ribbed for shops and barns, board and batten for the farmhouse look, and woodgrain aluminum plank where you want cedar without the upkeep. Roof and walls from the same coil run, so the colour matches.
- Materials 24 and 26 ga steel, aluminum
- Finishes PVDF, SMP, woodgrain
- Base rainscreen over a weather barrier
- Trims bent on site to match

Siding you install once
Hardie needs paint every decade or so, wood needs stain and attracts carpenter ants, vinyl fades and cracks in the cold. Metal cladding with a PVDF finish does none of that: it does not absorb water, burn, rot or feed insects, and the colour is warranted for decades. It costs more up front than vinyl or standard Hardie lap, and about the same as the premium versions of either.
The craft is in the flashings. Every window, door, corner and roof junction is a custom-bent piece, and that is what separates a wall that looks right for 50 years from one that looks rough on day one.

Questions
Metal siding questions
How much does metal siding cost?
Standing seam and flat metal wall panels run about $15 to $25 per square foot of wall installed; woodgrain aluminum plank starts around $15 and premium systems reach $25 to $40. Corrugated and board and batten depend on the openings and corners, so we measure and quote them.
Is metal siding better than Hardie board?
It costs more up front, roughly $15 to $25 against $10 to $20 for Hardie lap, and it never needs painting, does not absorb water and does not crack. Hardie gives a traditional lap look that metal cannot. Our comparison guide goes through it line by line.
Does metal siding need a rainscreen?
Yes. The BC Building Code requires a drained and ventilated cavity behind cladding in the Lower Mainland's climate, and metal panels are installed over strapping on a weather barrier like any other siding. It is included in our quotes.
Does metal siding dent?
It can, from a thrown ball or a ladder, more so on aluminum and thin steel. 24 gauge steel on walls resists most everyday knocks. Dents in a single panel can usually be replaced without disturbing the rest of the wall.
Siding and roof together?
Ordering both from one coil run is the only way to guarantee the colour matches. One crew, one schedule.
