Privacy policy
Colossus Roofing ("we", "us") runs colossusroofing.ca, the website of a metal roofing and siding contractor in British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you request an estimate or send a message: your name, email address, phone number, the address or city of the building, and any details you choose to share about it. When you use the roof estimate tool: the address you search for, the roof outline you draw and the options you choose, together with your name, email and phone when you ask for the estimate to be sent.
- Information collected automatically. Basic technical data such as pages visited, approximate location at city level, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We use this to understand how the site is used and to improve it. The estimate tool and our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots; it does not identify you.
How we use it
- To calculate and send the estimate you asked for
- To contact you about your request, arrange a visit and prepare a quote
- To reply to messages
- To run, secure and improve the website
- To meet legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not add you to marketing lists without your permission.
Who we share it with
- Service providers. We use trusted third-party providers to host and secure the site, deliver email, show the satellite map and address search in the estimate tool, and measure site traffic. They process information only to provide those services to us.
- Legal reasons. If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or us.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
Cookies and analytics
The site works without cookies. If analytics are enabled, they may use cookies or similar technologies to count visits and measure which pages lead to estimate requests. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.
How long we keep it
We keep estimate requests, quotes and related records only as long as needed to provide the service, handle follow-up and meet legal, warranty and accounting requirements, then delete or anonymize them.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access to records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw consent to further contact at any time. Email info@colossusroofing.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
